We spent a short week in Bangkok and try to make the most of every opportunity offered to us. We visited several markets such as amulets and the famous Chatuchak weekend market. This market has the size of a neighborhood and is divided into several alleys: it's quite impressive to lose yourself there. You can find everything like clothes, furniture, decorative objects, textiles, musical instruments... As you can imagine, it's easy to spend lots of money there! In markets, apart from the wide variety of souvenirs, we love the food stalls and always try new dishes, including many strange ones that we can't even name.
We also spent a day at a floating market outside Bangkok: quite touristic tour, it is true, but very colorful and we had there one of the best noodle soups we've tested so far. It's a canal market located an hour from Bangkok. Here everything is done by boat, mostly run by women. Each boat sells its own specialty, fruits, crafts, prepared foods ...
If Bangkok is a huge city, still we feel good here: the neighborhood where we were staying is pretty quiet and you can easily walk to the area of the temples. The city is full of things to discover and you really experience the true feeling of being in Thailand (much more than in the southern islands which developed by tourism). So we're happy to discover this city, get lost in its maze, and we believe that a week is too short to discover it entirely...
